It was very generous of your company to make the results of your efforts available for free.

However, I too am wary of judgments overemphasizing “popularity”, as my experience with the ranking by Google of popular cute fluff vs. well-documented information on a public-policy issue demonstrated to me.

On the other hand, I was an early adopter of the UCSD pSystem (original IBM PC, from DEC micro-11), neglecting coding for crude & clunky competitor PC-DOS/MS-DOS, so popularity is _not_ irrelevant. Alas, it’s probably safe to say that you do not want me picking high-tech stocks for you to invest in.

I would be most eager to read a “SMACKDOWN focused on adherence to standards & customs (e.g. _not_ replacing ‘h1′ to ‘h7′ with ’span’ tags), practical modularity,
reliability (e.g. forward & backward compatibility of data,
length-checking of URLs to avoid truncation), and webmaster-usability issues (e.g.: configurability, even down to URL details).

Wordpress is still the best while Joomla is the first choice for business and e-commerce sites. Thanks for listing these CMS

Nice to see phpwebsite get a mention. It’s biggest problem is fantastico pushing a much older version than the current release. phpwebsite 1.6.2 is a very good product and makes publishing content very easy.

Very interesting indeed. This objective information is very welcome. In their communication they all focus on the strong points of course, but here we see the distinction between hypes and steady winners.

Muy bueno el informe, pero es como todo, se supone que lo que usamos casi siempre nos parecera lo mejor, en mi caso drupal y eso despues de hacer pruebas y pruebas con varios sistemas.

Interesting article – I am trying to port over my existing php/mysql code and use the cms as a “pretty” front end. Essentially a command post module for a community festival (occurrences, lost and found, resource tracker – that type of thing). I spent some time investigating Joomla! but I found it a bit lacking without purchasing some add-ons. I’m now investigating drupal and it seems to be exactly what I need.
Hopefully I can get it ported before this years’ summer festival (work always gets in the way of hobbies).

CMS madesimple menacé ? Ce serait dommage. Ayant utilisé spip, joomla ainsi que wordpress, je trouve que madesimple reste simple et vachement mieux abouti que ceux cités précédemment tant pour l’utilisateur final que pour le concepteur.

Gigo is right. Popularity doesn’t prove that something is the best. Using popularity as a tool for greatness is flawed. Although, I find it helpful in knowing which products are out there.
